Who is responsible for your data

The data controller is Second Horizon Academy SL, Carrer Lepant 270 BAJ, 08013 Barcelona, Spain, [email protected].

What we collect and why

  • Account: your name and email when you register, to create and manage your account (legal basis: performance of a contract).
  • Inquiries and forms: the name, email and any details you send when you request private training, propose a course, ask about sponsorship or venue rental, or apply to Founder Launchpad, so we can respond and follow up (legal basis: your consent and pre-contractual steps).
  • Registrations: the details needed to register you for a session and, for paid sessions, to take payment. Card details are entered directly with our payment provider and are not stored by us (legal basis: performance of a contract).
  • Newsletter: your email, if you subscribe, to send you our updates (legal basis: your consent; you can unsubscribe at any time).
  • Analytics: usage data through our analytics tools, only if you accept analytics cookies (legal basis: your consent). See the cookie section.
  • Technical data: when you visit, our systems and providers handle limited technical data such as your IP address and browser information to keep the service running and secure and to prevent abuse (legal basis: our legitimate interest).

Where your data comes from (other than you)

Some of what we hold about you comes from publicly available sources on the internet, such as public websites and social media profiles, rather than from you directly. Where you have shared a public professional profile link with us, we may read that public page about twice a year and record your current job title, your current employer, your professional headline and your city. We do not collect email addresses or phone numbers this way.

We use it only to describe our audience to partners and sponsors in aggregate — which kinds of roles and companies attend our sessions. Partners never see individual profiles, and any group of fewer than five people is merged into an unnamed 'other' so nobody can be identified from a report. We rely on our legitimate interest in describing our audience accurately (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR), and we keep it while your account is active. You can switch this off at any time in your account settings, under privacy; switching it off also deletes what we already hold.

Who we share it with

We share data only with providers who process it on our behalf to run the service, covering hosting and infrastructure, payment processing, email delivery, and website and product analytics. They act on our instructions under data-processing agreements.

International transfers

Some of our providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as a European Commission adequacy decision or its standard contractual clauses. Our product analytics runs in its EU region.

How long we keep it

We keep account and registration data while your account or relationship with us is active, inquiry data for as long as needed to handle your request, and analytics data for the retention period set with each provider. We then delete or anonymise it, keeping only what the law requires us to retain.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct, delete, restrict or port your data, or object to a use, and withdraw consent at any time, by emailing [email protected]. If you believe we have not handled your data properly, you can complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD, www.aepd.es).

Cookie policy

A cookie is a small file stored on your device. We use cookies in two groups, and analytics cookies load only if you accept them in the banner.

Strictly necessary (always on)

  • Sign-in: keeps you logged in to your account.
  • Language: remembers whether you are browsing in English, Spanish or Catalan.

Analytics (only with your consent)

  • Google Analytics (_ga, _ga_*): measures how the site is used, so we can improve it.
  • PostHog (ph_*): understands how visitors move through the site. If you reject, PostHog runs in a cookieless mode that sets no cookies.

You choose when the banner first appears, and you can change your choice at any time from the "Cookies" link in the footer. If you reject or withdraw consent, we do not load analytics cookies and clear any that were set.
